WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT?

We collect information about you when you provide it to us, when you use our Services, and when other sources provide it to us, as further described below.

When you register to use software, device or website, or contact us for support or other offerings, EPITUM collects information that identifies you. This includes:

• name
• company name
• type of activity
• email address
• telephone number
• address
• country
• IP address
• your device (manufacturer, model, IP address)
• cookies.

To help keep our databases up-to-date and to provide you the most relevant content and experiences, we may combine information provided by you with information from third party sources, in accordance with the applicable law. For example, the size, industry, and other information about the company you work for (where you have provided the company name) will be obtained from sources including other sites and information service providers.

HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR DATA?

You directly provide EPITUM with most of the data we collect.

Website. We collect information about how you use our website. Depending on the software or website, this information may be anonymous or it may be associated with you. It includes:

• IP address
• type of browser and device
• webpage that led you to an EPITUM website
• search terms entered into a search engine which led you to an EPITUM website
• use and navigation of websites and apps (collected through cookies and similar technologies, or by EPITUM servers when you are logged in to the website).
• EPITUM software activation and automatic updates.
• When you activate your EPITUM software or when you install updates to the software, we collect information about:
• name
• company name
• type of activity
• email address
• telephone number
• address
• your device (manufacturer, model, IP address)
• software (version, date of activation, successful and unsuccessful updates)
• your device (manufacturer, model, IP address).

EPITUM software using. In the process of using the software, statistics are collected, similar to a web cookies - login time, user ID, software version, operating system version, etc.

We can also collect technical data of the device connected to the software - readings from all sensors, settings of internal systems, mac-address, etc.

We do not collect information about the content of custom 3D model files that you upload to the software. At the same time, we can collect information from the settings files inside the program (settings presets) in order to provide you with access to them when you work on another device.

If you do not use EPITUM software, but connect the device purchased from us to a network with Internet access and activate data transmission, then we also collect technical data of the device for analytics and the provision of some services available from the device directly.

EPITUM emails. Emails we send you may include a technology (called a web beacon) that tells EPITUM whether you have received or opened the email or clicked a link in the email. If you do not want us to collect this information, you can contact 1 (456) 789-10-12.

You can also voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email.

HOW WILL WE USE YOUR DATA?

How we use the information we collect depends in part on which Services you use, how you use them, and any preferences you have communicated to us. Below are the specific purposes for which we use the information we collect about you.

To provide the Services and personalize your experience: We use information about you to provide the Services to you, including processing transactions with you, verification at login, providing customer support, and operating, maintaining and improving the Services. We also use information about you to connect you. We may use your email domain to infer your affiliation with a particular organisation or industry to customise the content and experience you receive on our websites. Where you use multiple Services, we combine information about you and your activities to provide an integrated experience, to allow you to find information from one Service while searching from another or to present relevant product information as you travel across our Services. Based on your interactions with different Services and advertisements, we will personalize your experience and tailor our communications and offers to you. For research and development: We are always looking for ways to make our Services smarter, faster, safer, integrated, and useful. We use information and collective learnings (including feedback) about how people use our Services to troubleshoot, to identify trends, usage, activity patterns, and areas for integration and to improve our Services and to develop new products, features and technologies that benefit our users and the public. We automatically analyse and aggregate commonly used search terms to improve the accuracy and relevance of the suggested topics that automatically appear when you use the search function. In some cases, we apply these learnings across our Services to improve and develop similar features., to better integrate the Services you use, or to provide you with insights based on how others use our Services. We also test and analyze certain new features with some users before rolling the feature out to all users.

To communicate with you about the Services: We use your contact information to send transactional communications via email and within the Services, including confirming your purchases, reminding you of subscription expirations, responding to your comments, questions and requests, providing customer support, and sending you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and administrative messages. We send you email notifications when you or others interact with you on the Services. Depending on your chosen method of contact, we may send you SMS notifications or call you. We also provide tailored communications based on your activity and interactions with us.

To market, promote and drive engagement with the Services: We use your contact information and information about how you use the Services to send promotional communications that may be of specific interest to you, including by email. These communications may be informed by audits of interactions (like counting ad impressions) and are aimed at driving engagement and maximizing what you get out of the Services, including information about new features, survey requests, newsletters, and events we think may be of interest to you. We also contact you about new Services, product offers, promotions, and contests.

Customer support: We use your information to resolve technical issues you encounter, to respond to your requests for assistance, to analyze crash information, and to repair and improve the Services. When you expressly authorise us to do so, we share information with an expert third party for the purpose of responding to requests for assistance.

For safety and security: We use information about you and your Service use to verify accounts and activity, to detect, prevent, and respond to potential or actual security incidents and to monitor and protect against other malicious, deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity, including violations of Service policies.

To protect our legitimate business interests and legal rights: Where required by law or where we believe it is necessary to protect our legal rights, interests and the interests of others, we use information about you in connection with legal claims, compliance, regulatory, and audit functions, and disclosures in connection with the acquisition, merger or sale of a business.

With your consent: We use information about you where you have given us consent to do so for a specific purpose not listed above. For example, we may publish testimonials or featured customer stories to promote the Services, with your permission.

Legal bases for processing (for EEA users): If you are an individual in the European Economic Area (EEA), we collect and process information about you only where we have legal bases for doing so under applicable EU laws. The legal bases depend on the Services you use and how you use them. This means we collect and use your information only where:

HOW DO WE STORE YOUR DATA?

Your personal information and files are stored on EPITUM’s servers and the servers of companies we hire to provide services to us.EPITUM takes your data security very seriously.

EPITUM works hard to protect information you provide from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. These steps take into account the sensitivity of the information we collect, process and store, and the current state of technology. EPITUM has received internationally recognized security certifications. Given the nature of communications and information processing technology, EPITUM cannot guarantee that information during transmission through the Internet or while stored on our systems or otherwise in our care will be absolutely safe from intrusion by others. When you click a link to a third-party site, you will be leaving our site and we don’t control or endorse what is on third-party sites.

IDENTIFYING THE DATA CONTROLLER AND PROCESSOR

Data protection law in certain jurisdictions differentiates between the “controller” and “processor” of information. In general, you are the controller of your data. In general, EPITUM is the processor of your data and the controller of other information.

HOW WE SHARE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT?

We may share your personal information with third parties under one of the following circumstances:

With your consent. We share your personal information, if you consent, after letting you know what information will be shared, with whom, and why.

With service providers. We share personal information with a limited number of service providers who process it on our behalf to provide or improve our Service, and who have agreed to privacy restrictions similar by signing data protection agreements or making similar commitments. Our service providers perform network data transmission, security, and other similar services.

For security purposes. If you are a member of an organization, EPITUM may share your username, usage information, software and device Information associated with that organization with an owner and/or administrator of the organization, to the extent that such information is provided only to investigate or respond to a security incident that affects or compromises the security of that particular organization.

For legal disclosure. EPITUM strives for transparency in complying with legal process and legal obligations. Unless prevented from doing so by law or court order, or in rare, exigent circumstances, we make a reasonable effort to notify users of any legally compelled or required disclosure of their information. EPITUM may disclose personal information or other information we collect about you to law enforcement if required in response to a valid subpoena, court order, search warrant, a similar government order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to protect our property or rights, or those of third parties or the public at large.

Change in control or sale. We may share your personal information if we are involved in a merger, sale, or acquisition of corporate entities or business units. If any such change of ownership happens, we will ensure that it is under terms that preserve the confidentiality of user personal information, and we will notify you on our website or by email before any transfer of your personal information. The organization receiving any personal information will have to honor any promises we made in our privacy policy.

Aggregate, non-personally identifying information. We share certain aggregated, non-personally identifying information with others about how our users, collectively, use EPITUM, or how our users respond to our other offerings, such as our conferences or events.

We will also share your personal information with other third-party data controllers. The types of third parties your information may be shared with include, our resellers and other sales and advertising partners, retailers, research organizations, advertisers, ad agencies, advertising networks and platforms, information service providers, fraud monitoring and prevention providers, publishers, and non-profit organizations (with your consent, if required). If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.

You have the right at any time to stop EPITUM from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your data to other members or partners of EPITUM.
